The Athenaeum

magazine.jpg The Great Burlesque Exposition presents The Athenaeum (from the middle Latin for "A pretentious word for a library"). Open in the Haym Solomon Room on Saturday and Sunday, The Athenaeum is a remarkable collection of resources for both new and experienced burlesque performers and fans. Explore trade magazines from burlesque’s heyday, helpful guides to costuming, hair and makeup, and even novels inspired by the spirit of burlesque. Highlights include reprints of the very rare Cavalcade of Burlesque magazine (published by Boston's own Jess Mack) and an autographed copy of Ann Corio's This Was Burlesque.

This exceptional collection is open to anyone with a Whole Shebang, Scholar's Pass, or Conference-only badge.

Special thanks to Counterpoint Press, Margo Christie, and Mina Murray for their contributions.
