WORKSHOPS

Workshops are in-depth, hands-on, project-oriented instruction.  The goal of each workshop is learn the skills necessary to create an item or items.  The project may be completed during class time or may involve additional work after the class – but students will receive enough instruction to complete the techniques or item described below. Unlike classes and panels, which are 50-minutes long, workshops are at least two hours.

Please bring cash to cover the materials fee.  Materials fees are paid directly to the instructor.
Practical Stage Magic
Dr. Wilson
Stage magic should be fast, colorful, and easy to understand. Stage magic should also be easy to transport to the show and onto the stage. In this class, you will learn a few basic pieces of practical stage magic to start you on the journey of developing your own magic. You will also learn to build some simple magic props.
Materials Fee: $15 per person

Handsew A Shimmy Belt!
Scarlett Letter
A fast and easy Shimmy belt project that demonstrates several techniques and issues involved with hand stitching. Students will leave with a custom Shimmy Belt of their own making, and a better understanding of stitch work and process.

Making Pasties
Vivienne Vavoom
Vivienne will show you step by step how to create pasties in different shapes and how to make pasties with tassels that spin like a dream. Learn the essential techniques of making and decorating your very own pasties! Studentsl leave class with a completed pair of pasties that can be used in performance, as well as all the knowledge to make their own in the future.
